Generation Z Doesn't Know They Rule The World
Generation Z is a weird generation because it is a generation
without direction or goal but for some reason they are in charge of what Millennials
and Boomers see and no one wants to admit that that’s what actually happening.
But let’s talk about Gen Z babies first and what I mean
about not having actual goals, what I mean is that they Gen Z-ers doesn’t know
what they want because they are the first generation to be free from handed
down responsibility.
Baby Boomers created everything from the ground up because
they and the generation before them came from a time of war and discourse and
they didn’t have time to be individuals as they were trying to fix the world then
Millennials had to upgrade the world they inherited from the Baby Boomers, they
had to enhance technology and every way of life and basically created a free
blanks slate for the next generation.
Which is what happened to Gen Z, they have been given so
much freedom, they are the generation that can become almost anything because
anything is possible for them now but the problem is they don’t know what they
want because the Millennials have done it all, but they do know what they want
when they see it.
Gen Z-ers are the ones in charge of virality and what is
given attention in the world now.
Every topic that goes viral starts from some Gen Z-ers
discovering it one by one, then it is made into memes, then into discussion, some
takes offense by it, some laugh at it but it is given attention nonetheless
then it is passed down to Millennials which (being the ever flexible generation
that they are) completely reinvents their stuff to match what Gen Z wants, they
rebrand their companies to what is trending while the Boomers rely on what is
trending to just keep up on what is happening to the world.
Gen Z-ers has become the judge, jury and executioner of what
the world sees but why are they the most looked down upon generation? Not even
looked down on but completely ignored.
Boomers has a natural superiority complex because they built
this world we’re living on and believe that they are still right despite the
world changing around them and everything they are becoming irrelevant by the
second, Millennials are rather the most looked down upon but has the most attention
because the world is theirs now and Boomers think they are messing it up but
Millennials keep changing and changing and bettering itself while the two see
Gen Z-ers as the kid with the iPad that just needs to sit in the corner.
Boomers tell them to do this while the Millennials keeps
asking them what they want and in the confusion the Gen Z doesn’t know what to do
and it keep thinking that because the world will still go on as they take their
time.
I am Gen Z, I was born in 1999 and since then I know what I
want to be, I want to be a Writer and Director and work in the film and
television industry, but If I work hard enough I can do that but I can also not
do that, I can receive consequences for not doing it but avoid it by doing something
else because I can anything right now.
And yes, some of the things I can say, I can say because I
was born middle class and have some privilege to say to them but the freedom of
the Gen Z can be applied to any class.
Gen Z’s in lower classes can be everything because they can
strive to be anything, no one believes in “lower class jobs” anymore because we
found out there is no such thing, people from lower class has the most drive
and stake so they can be anything they want and do anything they want.
Gen Z’s in middle class can also be everything by having the
right privilege to change what they want to do or to become, to have enough
room to discover who they are and not just in career but also in sexual
orientation, moral grounds and etc. and the lower class can still do those.
Gen Z’s in upper class can literally do anything they want
they have the total complete freedom of becoming anything they want; they have connections
from millennials to go anywhere and the handed down wealth from boomers to have
anything.
But the Gen Z freedom doesn’t go without a big cost.
In lower classes, Gen Z’s are exposed into a limited world
just because lower class millennials and boomers tell them that their options
are limited so the Gen Z adapts this mindset and thinks that there are little to
no hope in life that they almost have to resort to a life of crime, drugs and
sex because that life seems better than the limited life they were told and
some with that mindset think life is so limited that they need to bow down to
the upper classes to get through to life.
In middle classes, the Gen Z here are the ones most confused
about life of what is right and wrong, they are at the leading Gen Z of what
goes out into the world of social media and what goes viral so they have the
most influence to not just other Gen Z-ers but to Millennials and Boomers.
For the most part it’s good, due to popularity, homosexuality
has become more accepted as it should be, sexuality is now recognized as a
spectrum and common good is what people like but on the downside, systemic
racism is rising again along with xenophobes and for some reason Nazis and you
might think that most common Nazi’s are boomers or millennials but there are
also Gen Z’s not due to influence but bad history research and just close
mindedness that they chose to develop.
In short this is these are the Gen Z in charge of social
media morality, of what’s good or bad.
And finally, in upper classes, the Gen Z’s downsides here
are too many that I can only category them in two, there is the bad one, the
side where such young people are given so much power in privilege that they want
the world to be theirs and for the first time they actually can, if they want
to be racists they can, if they want power, they have it, there is also so much
potential for them because if they want to help the world, they also can, but I
have yet to see that happen.
The other category is the sad one, the one’s who are
pressured by older generations to become what THEY want, to not end the cycle
of being given a single mindset of what you should be and you have to listen
because they gave you your power and they can take it away.
So, they are the most prone to mental illnesses, abuse and
having their true self not be out there, if the older generations would let them,
they would flourish and become influential or they can be just themselves which
is equally right.
But so far that is where Gen Z stands, with so much power
but doesn’t even know they have it and can change so much when they wield it.
And before I finish I’ll leave you with another thing I noticed,
that most older generations try to influence us too much even after we know
what we are, Millennials try to take the helm on what goes viral, we believe
that they do but we’re the one who actually let them be viral and Boomers try
to tell us what to be or bad things will happen even though that is completely
false.
Older generations tell us what we are and what we should do
because they’re scared that we’re the ones in charge now but is using the fact
that we don’t know that in an attempt to keep control.
But that’s just my opinion.
